Pembroke Welsh Corgis come in 3 colors: Red (with White), Sable (with White) and Tri (with white).

 The Tri color comes in: Red Head Tri and Black Head Tri. (However AKC does not distinguish between the two.)

When Sable/Red pups are born they look the same. As do Black headed and Red Headed Tris. Only after time do these colors start to become what your pup will really be. I have seen a lot of pups sold as the wrong color, which then leads to wrong info on the pedigree.

*Dolly is a Sable. You can see the black on her back. She also has sable coloring around her eyes. 

*Diesel is a Red and white. As a pup he lookd like he had sable coloring. But between 8-12 weeks (depending on the pups lines) things will really start to lighten up.  

*Drover and Dandy are both Red Headed Tris. They worn born with Black Heads, but this starts to slowly go to a Red color.

He was sold to me as a Sable- But I knew since his mom was a Red and Dad was a Black Tri that he was more likely to be a Red. And he did change out to be a  Red! See is Current Pic on the Sire page!
